Kyle LeBlanc , Family Law Partner at HSSM, was published twice this year by the North Carolina Court of Appeals. After successfully advocating for his clients at the trial court level, two of his Orders in two separate matters were appealed – Preston v. Preston matter (appellate decision can be found here) and Brady v. Brady matter (appellate decision can be found here).
The Court of Appeals issues opinions in all cases which they review. However, they have the option to issue “published” or “unpublished” opinions. When the Court of Appeals issues a “published” opinion, it means that it is now binding law that all lower courts must begin to follow and that all future cases can relay on as law of the State of North Carolina.
