Partner Allen West is a volunteer mentor, and was on hand for the kickoff of the 2013-14 Mecklenburg County Lunch with a Lawyer Program. Lunch with a Lawyer is a partnership between CMS and the Mecklenburg County Bar, which matches attorney mentors with eighth grade mentees. It is a great opportunity for the students to get a chance to get to know someone practicing in a profession they may someday join. But Allen tells us, “I think I learn more from the students. Not only because these are some very bright and eager young people, but their questions really cause you to think about your practice in unexpected ways and gives you a completely new perspective.”
