Carmela is an associate in the firm’s Commercial Construction Litigation Group. Carmela is licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina and represents clients including contractors, suppliers, and design professionals on a variety of matters including:

  • Construction Defects;
  • Mechanic’s Liens and Bond Claims;
  • Delay Claims;
  • Accounts Collection.

Carmela is a “double-heel”, having earned both her undergraduate and law degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her time as an undergraduate, Carmela was a member of the Women’s Varsity Rowing Team. While in law school, Carmela served as the Symposium Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. Prior to joining HSSM, Carmela spent two years practicing domestic law with a firm in Cornelius, North Carolina.
