Hamilton Stephens Welcomes New Attorney Julia May

Julia May recently joined Hamilton Stephens after working for the past ten years at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP in New York.  Julia started at Kasowitz as a paralegal, returned during law school as a summer associate and was ultimately hired as an associate for the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights group. During her time practicing in New York, Julia represented various clients, including Borders bookstores in their Chapter 11 liquidation, the Official Committee of Former Partners in the Dewey LeBoeuf bankruptcy, and FHFA, in its capacity as conservator for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as part of its involvement in the Residential Capital bankruptcy and related securities litigations.  Julia, a New Jersey native, attended Williams College in Massachusetts and received her JD in 2009 from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
